The San Bernardino Forestry Challenge Session 1 had 72 students from 7 schools in attendance. The focus topic for this event was to collect data on the Upper Little Bear Mountain Club’s 40 acre parcel of land, taking stock of the conditions after treatment and determining if the project met its stated goals.

The results below are out of a possible 250 points:

  • First Place:  Palisades Charter High School Team #11, 215.3 points
  • Second Place:  Oxford Academy Team #9, 212.0 points
  • Third Place:  Palisades Charter High School Team #10, 210.8 points
  • Fourth Place:  John F. Kennedy High School Team #1, 206.2 points
  • Fifth Place:  Charter Oak High School Team #16, 188.3 points

Charter Oak won the Pacing Contest, with Coalinga and Palisades Charter coming in second and third.

Other schools at the Challenge were: Citrus Hill High School and Benjamin Franklin High School
