The San Bernardino Forestry Challenge Session 1 had 135 students from 13 schools in attendance. Clear cold skies and a large turnout made the first event at Hubert Eaton Scout reservation a success. In addition to unlimited potential for focus topics, students enjoyed the recreational opportunities there including a zipline and climbing wall. The focus topic was Mixed Conifer-Oak Woodland Forest Restoration at Hubert Eaton Scout Reservation. Students collected data at the Big Horn Camp area to determine species composition and recommend areas of the property to replicate this forest community.
